What is the 3D printer?

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing (AM), refers to processes used to create a three-dimensional object in which layers of material are formed under computer control to create an object.

How does a 3D printer work?

The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross-section of the eventual object.

How fast is a 3D printer?

Currently, there are generally three sets of printing speed that 3D printers can support. The first set is has been grouped at around 40 to 50 mm/s, while the second set prints at about 80-100 mm/s. Meanwhile, the fastest set prints at around 150 mm/s. Some printers may even print at a speed faster than 150 mm/s.s.
